Provider grant eligibility requirements
Individual Provider Grants are designed to ignite and support the passions of medical providers to give back to communities through medical mission trips. Before you apply for a grant, please read through our eligibility requirements below.
The Individual Provider Grant helps medical providers participate in medical mission trips by covering a portion of the program costs charged by the nonprofit organization running the trip. Grant funds are paid directly to the nonprofit organization, not to the individual provider.
To be eligible for an Individual Provider Grant:
The hosting organization must be a qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit with at least two years of operating history.
The medical provider must hold a valid U.S. medical license in their specialty.
At least 80% of the provider’s time on the mission must be spent delivering healthcare services or healthcare education.
The trip must be secular in nature (not religious or political).
Providers must demonstrate that trip costs are a barrier to participation.
Providers must agree to complete a post-trip survey and sign a Foundation liability waiver.
Applications should be submitted at least 30 – 60 days prior to the mission departure date to allow sufficient time for review and approval.
Grant awards vary and will not exceed $2,000 per provider. Award amounts are determined by the Foundation based on eligibility, need, and available funding.
Grant funds may only be used to cover program costs charged by the nonprofit organization hosting the mission.
Grant funds cannot be used for:
Airfare or travel expenses
Vaccinations or medical clearances
Insurance or personal equipment
Personal or incidental expenses
Grant funding is not guaranteed and is subject to review, eligibility, and available funds. Award decisions are made by the Foundation.
If a grant is awarded, providers are required to:
Participate in the approved mission trip
Complete a post-trip survey
Comply with any additional documentation or confirmation requests needed to support the grant process
Providers may apply for future grants; however, repeat funding is not guaranteed.
